One man on campaign
Throughout the ages, the average soldier on campaign didn’t have the luxury of a shelter or barracks for his overnight stay.
He might bed down under the stars covered simply by his cloak. If he was lucky, he might find shelter in a barn or animal pen, or even with a master’s retinue.

But for the re-enactor or living history enthusiast, life on campaign often has to be a little more ‘under cover’ - not least because of the need to keep modern items out of site, and protect valuable equipment.
A space for essentials.

The GOCB Soldier’s tent is designed for one person—although there is room inside for a ‘guest’ if needed. A standard single airbed fits easily into the body of the tent, leaving space at the bell ends for kit—old and new. A double airbed has been tried in the tent, and fits—albeit a little more snugly.
Only one metre high, it is compact, and designed for sleeping mainly. GOCB has done lots of research and experimentation into authentic sleeping, and can report that The Soldier’s Tent is suitable for this use…. The view of an expert. It packs down into a snug space about 600mm x 230mm plus poles and pegs, so is conducive to the smallest car, or in a rucksack/bag on public transport (neither car nor bag is supplied with the basic model).
The front flap opens on both sides, so can be lifted up on sticks (not supplied with the basic tent) to display your Living History sleeping kit for the man on campaign.
Light, flexible, strong
The canvas is 12oz water resistant cotton in a natural colour. It comes with 2 uprights and ridge pole, strengthened by steel or aluminum ironmongery (Your Choice). Ropes at the base connect the pegs to the floor.
Two ball finials are included to protect the steel spikes.
